Serena Armchair

The Serena Armchair aims to provoke reflection by reversing the roles of structure and upholstery. The seat and backrest disappear through the transparency of glass, concealing the traditional focal points of armchairs. Instead, it invites viewers to delve deeper into the structure that supports the entire piece. The handmade construction emphasizes the hidden human factor, becoming the true subject of the work.

As a consequence, the Serena armchair allows all its elements to be seen from every possible perspective simultaneously. It strips away any false pretenses or simplifications, revealing itself in its entirety without hiding any details. The only remnants of its elements are the interplay of light and shadow that permeate the surrounding space, adding to the overall composition.
