Through stories, unique or limited creations arise, produced using traditional techniques, rediscovered raw materials, and natural finishes.
Dimitrih Correa is a designer and artisan. Graduated from UFRJ in industrial design with a specialization from the Dublin Institute of Technology, he works from the conceptualization and design of the product to its production and execution.
The passion for manual craftsmanship runs in his blood, quite literally. His own crib was built by his father, who as a hobby in the 80s/90s scavenged reclaimed woods, such as Riga pine.
Upon entering college, he is introduced to the world of design and works in various studios in Rio and Dublin. Through his work, he begins to unravel the many facets of wood and it is in reclaimed wood that he identifies and connects with his labor. Reuse becomes the motto, and later on, other materials such as carbon steel and leather are incorporated.
Since then, he has won first place in the Salão Design Award as a student, been a finalist for the Prêmio do Objeto Brasileiro, Tok Stok University Design Award, and received an honorable mention for the Wé luminaire at the Museu da Casa Brasileira Design Award.
His resume includes several exhibitions in Rio de Janeiro, São Paulo, Belo Horizonte, Milan, Brussels, Antwerp, Paris, and New York.
Dimitrih creates products that carry emotions and have soul. With respect and built to last.
