As the only representative from Brazil to have his pieces exhibited at Salone Satellite during Milan Design Week in June 2023, designer Tavinho Camerino gains prominence and recognition both nationally and internationally. Illustrating covers of prestigious magazines and portals such as Interior Design Magazine, Casa & Jardim, Home Cuix, Design Milk, Estadão, Daily Hind News, the Alagoan designer is now reaching new heights.
The integration of new elements into existing items is the hallmark of the designer. Tavinho Camerino navigates the industrial universe while highlighting the knowledge and techniques of handmade craftsmanship.
Tavinho Camerino's journey with furniture design began in 2017 when he was still a student of Architecture. From the outset, he was keen on combining traditional materials and techniques of Alagoan artisans with industrial innovations. Among his early creations were pieces made of coconut wood with iron, crafted with artisans from São Miguel dos Milagres (AL). During his time at the Development Secretariat of Alagoas, working on the Alagoas Handmade program aimed at promoting the state's craftsmanship, this relationship deepened further, also contributing to income generation and visibility for these communities.
Throughout his career, Tavinho has stood out in events like the New Brazilian Design Talents exhibition in Rio de Janeiro in 2018 and secured 2nd place in the Student category at the Lighting Design – Alagoas Esther Stiller Award, also in 2018. On the national stage, Tavinho participated in events such as Feira Paralela, São Paulo Design Weekend (DW! SP), and BoomSPDesign in 2019, all held in São Paulo. In the capital city, he was also part of the Premier Expo Decor in 2020. The designer is also a co-founder of the Borogodó Collective.
