After 40 years of working with brand design, publications, films and environments, Ricardo van Steen creates a new work area in his studio: MOBÍLIA TEMPO, dedicated exclusively to the design of furniture products, architecture and decoration.
While organizing the archives for a book, the designer collected more than 30 furniture design creations throughout his professional career, either as art director, set designer or architect. Stimulated by the production, he started a process of updating all those ideas to the standards and paradigms of the present time. From this work resulted the series of products exhibited in this catalog.
New personal exchanges
"I am not as adept at erudition as I am at popular knowledge. I would much rather travel 200 kilometers to learn how to make a plot with an Indian than look for a tutorial on Google. The prospect of meeting people and exchanging feelings and thoughts with them gives my life meaning.
Tradition accepts technology
"The approximation between the artisan's knowledge and the latest technology can generate great inventions. I like to be the agent of this symbiosis.
