Crafted from a single block of reclaimed wood, each piece is as unique as the tree that preceded it. Designed through the deconstruction of the perfect form, the sphere, it pays homage to both pre Columbian and Japanese culture through its shapes, such as the three leg bases found in molcajetes and petates, and through its techniques. Sculpture made design.
This version is presented as a limited series of five pieces carved in capulín, a Mexican cherry wood with profound historical relevance. Capulín held an important place in the daily life and diet of the pre Hispanic peoples of the Valley of Mexico, and it remains one of the country’s finest native woods, dense, durable and rich in tone.
